Ben is a Principal Ecologist and Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
Ben has considerable experience of taking sites from initial Preliminary Ecological Appraisals through to Ecological Impact Assessments and has successfully coordinated and managed a wide variety of small to large scale ecological projects through to completion, including for infrastructure, residential (1000 units plus), industrial and renewable energy schemes.
Ben has extensive experience of undertaking surveys, reports and impact assessments, and providing advice on mitigation and enhancement for the following areas: bats, birds, great crested newts, water voles, otters, reptiles, badgers and habitats/flora. In addition, Ben is proficient at undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
Ben holds Natural England licences for great crested newts and bats , as well as being a Registered Consultant for the Bat Mitigation Class Licence. In addition, Ben is a qualified tree climber, is first aid qualified and holds a CSCS card.
Gemma is a Senior Ecological Consultant and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
Gemma has worked on a broad range of projects of varying complexities, managing from initial concept to completion. Ecological skills include Protected Species and Phase 1 Habitat surveys, with extensive experience of GCN, bats, birds (wintering and breeding bird surveys), badgers and reptiles.
Gemma has worked in a wide variety of locations and is experienced working within protected landscapes including survey work and providing advice on management of habitats including biodiversity net gain.
Gemma’s former career as a mental health nurse underpins her approach to work with integrity, aiming to balance requirements of both nature and clients and effectively communicate with a wide range of people including clients, landowners and statutory bodies.
Gemma holds Natural England licences for great crested newts and bats.
Nick is an Ecological Consultant and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
Nick has worked in the ecological consultancy industry for five years, having worked on a wide array of small to large scale development projects. Whilst Nick’s key specialisms are bats and biodiversity net gain, Nick is also competent in undertaking a range of protected species surveys, including great crested newts, badgers, reptiles and birds.
Having a background in the construction industry, Nick has a solid understanding of working on development sites and the associated pressures of site working.
In Nick’s spare time, he is the Vice Chair for Nottinghamshire Bat Group and regularly runs activities for its members. Nick has also developed a passion for botany and is working towards a high level of competency.
Nick holds a level 2 Natural England Class License for bats and holds a valid CSCS card.
