ABOUT US

A small independent company, providing professional ecological services throughout Pembrokeshire.  Here at BM Ecology, we have an outstanding reputation for providing efficient and pragmatic services for our clients. 

Ben McLean

Ben is a Principal Ecologist and Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).


Ben has considerable experience of taking sites from initial Preliminary Ecological Appraisals through to Ecological Impact Assessments and has successfully coordinated and managed a wide variety of small to large scale ecological projects through to completion, including for infrastructure, residential (1000 units plus), industrial and renewable energy schemes. 


Ben has extensive experience of undertaking surveys, reports and impact assessments, and providing advice on mitigation and enhancement for the following areas: bats, birds, great crested newts, water voles, otters, reptiles, badgers and habitats/flora. In addition, Ben is proficient at undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments. 


Ben holds Natural England licences for great crested newts and bats , as well as being a Registered Consultant for the Bat Mitigation Class Licence. In addition, Ben is a qualified tree climber, is first aid qualified and holds a CSCS card.
